Project Teddy, an amazing organization bringing smiles to children in pediatric cancer centers, took on a new drive for the holiday season, which was inspired by a charming and delightful personality.
During a Project Teddy fundraiser, Becky Sullivan won the raffle prize of the evening, a Kindle Fire Tablet. As the cheers and congratulations on her win filled the evening air, it only took moments for the generosity of Becky’s heart to once again, beat with the love of giving. In that moment, Becky, though excited to win the Kindle Fire prize, turned to Project Teddy’s founder Susie Monahan and offered the Kindle Fire Tablet back to the charitable organization, to donate to a child in a pediatric cancer center.
Susie, touched by Becky’s wonderful heart and offer, said this act of generosity sparked an idea. The next fundraising drive would be to raise donations for as many Kindle Fire Tablet’s as possible and then donate them to children in pediatric cancer centers.
Then, you have the heart of a child. One who say’s “I would like to help”. Words spoken so genuine and true by Alexandra Kouretas, the current reigning Jr. Miss Nevada Princess 2014, absolutely stirs your spirit with happiness. Alexandra’s next step was to hold a wrapping workshop, invite all her friends and engage in an evening of joy while wrapping gifts that would soon be in the hands of children in pediatric cancer centers throughout the Las Vegas valley.
Guided by her mom, Amanda Kouretas – Mrs. Nevada America 2011, Alexandra’s wrapping workshop was a huge success.
All together with the help and support from many, the fundraising efforts raised over 92 Kindle Fire Tablets which many children in pediatrics centers throughout the valley of Las Vegas may now enjoy, during their time of treatments and stay.
Thank you, to all of you for your support and your continual love for Project Teddy.
